Started off pretty good.

Meegan and I went to see "Julia & Julie". It was a fun movie. No deep politically statements (except the historically accurate depiction of Paul being hauled up before a McCarthy panel and interrogated), just good entertainment.

We headed to the shops for Meegan to pick something up, and while we were in the pedestrian right of way crosswalk, some asshat in a ute decided to try to back up over us. Anyone who knows me knows I can be heard. I yelled "OY! What the hell are you doing!!??"

Meegan and I continue along the pedestrian area, and the bozo gets out of his truck, and starts lipping off at me, about how what did we expect walking behind his truck , because I had whipped out my phone, and snapped a picture of his truck and license plate.

"We were in the pedestrian right of way area, you twit!" The people who saw the whole thing started laughing at him.

What he doesn't know, is the camera on the phone isn't all that great, and all I got was a blurry company logo, and that his truck is #5 in their fleet. If anyone local to me can puzzle out that logo on the left side of tailgate, let me know.

Meegan stopped by today. Her mom is recovering from surgery, and is enjoying the morphine. (Better living through chemistry). She should be home by Wednesday.

She also had a surprise for me.. a nice nifty crepe maker. Now I can make proper blintzes!

Loki keeps looking for our guest. Kinda funny watching him sniff around the 'guest room', and meep. Poor baby

Coffee Stein

Meegan spotted this, and got it as anniversary present. I will *try* not to use it when my mother in law visits.

Coffe Stein

Say it with Flowers! and I don't mean triffids

Archimedes (l) and Eileen (r) snacking on some fresh banksia blossoms. I did notice if I put them in a vase of water, the blossoms tend to 're-nectar' for a few days. Sure beats cutting fresh ones every day. This little pigs get well fed by their human slave, so these are a treat for them. And boy to they suck up after they get em.

Keets snacking

Or dream of chasing down people that through ignorance, muck up computers.

Noticed on AcerBeast, the option of being able to allocate memory to video was missing. Now it was there before I had the harddrive crash, but now it's missing. Been on the phone with Acer support (nice tech support, very helpful) and it turns out I was lucky with Acerbeast. It had the 'wrong' chipset for the video, and can be set higher than the standard chipset. Yay me. So, Acer wanted to know what the tech who replaced the harddrive did. *sigh* Just called him, he said bring it down and he will reflash the bios for me.

Went to [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ 's house after PT today. Got her computer set to rights, and installed some good things she will be needing. She said no males are allowed on her computer anymore, as they keep screwing things up left right and center. At least she has a 'tame tech' (moi) to get things fixed. Ahhh, people are always using me for techs. *snicker*

At PT today, I got many strange looks again as I was singing to music not coming out of the speakers. A few noticed the headset, and started talking to me.

Took headset off and said "Pardon?"

"Are you listening to music?" (got asked this 3 times, I kid you not)

Uhhhh, I was so tempted to say "No, I'm painting the the ceiling" or something else totally off the wall.

Comparatively speaking.

Had my hydrotherapy session today. That was typical, push until I could no more, come home, remove the stink of chlorine. Take pictures of goofy cats.

[livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ came over, and we went to the shops to pick up my trial pair of contacts, and some more Nurofen PLUS (the plus is codeine) for me. Stopped by BlockBuster and rented "Monster In Law", got some lunch and came back. Both [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ and I were in stitches laughing at the movie, as we could relate to the bride to be's dilemma, and battle with the soon to be mother in law.

She also let me borrow "Hellboy". Watching that now.

Have also been shopping around for a waterproof MP3 player, and after careful price comparisons, and checking specs, I managed to get a good price on a decent 1 gig player. No more Donna Summer version of " McArthur Park", or elevator music rendition of "When I'm 64" while at hydrotherapy.

We had more Barbies' than you could shake a stick at.

I, sporting platinum blonde wig, and white backless full circle skirted dress, was Marilyn Monroe Barbie (and according to several attendees it was quite fetching, and since it was so breezy, I had perfected the 'holding of the skirt down in sudden updraft) and [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ was "Disco Barbie".. we had some novelty Barbies too, Trailer Trash Barbie (Gina's rendition was great) and partner Trailer Trash Ken (Terry was great too!) Barbie's Mom Barbie (kudos to Anya! That was wonderful) Buddha Barbie (or Krishna Ken, which ever you prefer). There was also a Classic Barbie and Ken couple (Paul and Elise) and their daughters Olympic Barbie and Cowgirl Barbie. Daggles was "CaveMan Ken". *cackle* [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland was Fitness Club Ken. There are pictures, and they will come later. Even [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_s' Mom dressed as Barbie, in pink and white, and her Aunt Trish was Tropical Paradise Barbie!

The compliation was a huge hit.

The pinata..my gods that thing must have been armored, because even with a two handed swing of a bokken, several times, the damned thing would not break. So, Anya gave it a few strategic pulls and twists, and [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ had at it again, and then we had a bunch of kids scrambling for the yummies that showered all over.

I got to sing Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_, a la Marilyn singing it to President Kennedy... much applause (Yes, I can actually sing). Then came the speeches.Who would have thunk [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_s' blushing would be visible under that make up!

It was much fun. Another bash planned that went off to perfection. :)

I got my 7 port USB2 hub and it has tidied up the desk area quite nicely.  What irks me is that I had to get one outside Australia to get a good price.  Everywhere I went looking to get one (hey, I am all for supporting Aussie endeavors, but shit, gotta watch those pennies) it was unavailable, or over the top priced.  I got one imported for less than a standard 4 port USB2.  Oh well.

[livejournal.com profile] _meegan popped in for a quick visit and a nice "thinking of you" gift. A DUSK tangarine and lime candle and stand.  Ummm smellls niiiice.  :)
