I confess.. I like my techtoys. As much as I enjoy the SCA, Grey Company, and Renaissance, I like my tech toys.

I have been torrenting SURFACE eps and converting them to Divx for handheld, and loading them onto my Voq. It will give me something to do when I am stuck on a bus or waiting in a long line.

[livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland has been working on making us some Chinese arrow quivers. He ran into a conundrum with placement of the belt loop. Luckily, I have much experience with assisting SCA fencers (aka wire weenies/swishy pokes) and their epee rigs. They had 3 to 4 thin leather straps to adjust the 'angle of the dangle' so I showed him where to put a strap onto the quivers to correct the problem. It worked beyond expectations.

So, whatcha think? Did he do good job?

Spent a goodly part of the day scanning and printing pictures of [livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ to make a 'Wall of Memories' for her. Only had to fill the black ink tank once. I love my printer. It's 'smart' enough to tell there are six photographs being scanned at once, and I can to a batch save of the groups. Trimmed the finished products, and pegged them up.

Also spent a goodly portion of the day trying to find a Divx player for my VOQ. I managed to find one, The Core Pocket Media Player, a free open source program, to use and it seems to be functional. I will bench test it, and if it performs well, they will get donation from me.

Eyes are a bit twitchy, but I think that has to do with the long haul in front of the computer screen, and [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland cleaning and sweeping up the back yard today. Oh well, Early to sleep, give eyes a good long time to rest up.
