Todays' class was very intense. We really hammered home about why you have to hold your arms a certain way (if you hold them out too far to one side your weight is not balanced, too far from body during turn can throw you off balance etc etc) and proper posture, and correct foot placement. Almost 2 hrs worth of intense work for the students. They loved it.:)

Last night was a good teachers session. We have come up with things to wow and surprise people, and all in keeping with ATS criteria. With a bit of our own flavor.

Nice to know my creativity is still there and in fine form.

Need a nap or cup of coffee right now. A bit tired

Great dance class tonight, and yes, Brenda was right..I was brutal, but it was a great class. Working on some transitions until they were as smooth as glass, and worked on techinque, dance formantions, new dance moves, and ZIL DRILL! We had been avoiding zils as Brenda had pretty bad tendonitis, and during cold damp weather (typical W.A. winter) it's painful. Well, the weather is warming up, so back in the saddle with the zils.

Came home and cooked dinner. Told [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland about my left shoulderblade hurting, and he give it a massage. After 5 minuntes of working it,a tendon went crack/snap and mobility came back. He has such nice hands.:)

Meme stuff )

Alans' dentist appointment went pretty much how I thought it would. I think after the lecture he got from Dr L, he will be a lot more careful with his dental care. Got a drill and fill today, and has to go back in 2 weeks for 2 more cavities to be filled, and an extensive cleaning, but this time, Alan can walk himself there, and I will settle the bill after the performance.  Dr L says his mouth is very acidic, and he is going to have to change his diet when he is outside the house.

Aparcidas went great. That is just a fun and friendly atmosphere. Looking forward to next week there. MY left arm felt like it wasn't behaving today. Think I slept on it wrong last night,or was stuck sleeping on just one side. Either way, it felt stiff, weak and awkward.

Tonights class should be a good one.

One teacher ill, and one class suffering the flu. Luckily, it's the teacher for that ill class that is also sick.

Wearing one of the pretties [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland brought back for me. He said he saw it,and knew exactly what I could wear it with, and he was right. *chuckle* Native american A.T.S.bellydancer with authentic African tribal jewelry. Who would have thunk it.

My OPTCORP memebership arrived before my DSI. For some odd reason, MEADE won't ship internationally, even to US citizens living abroad. So, I have a very trusted friend who will accept delivery and forward it on to me. I would have gotten it locally, but a $300+ AUD mark-up is a bit over the top.

AH well, must away to finish packing and getting dressed.

Todays dance class was a tough one, for the students. It was a technique class.  Rad was having difficulties she thought from her lack of ability. Viv had similar problems. Turns out the majority of their problems stemmed from not having the weight on the right part of the foot (ie weight forward on the toes, rather than settled back on the heels or flats of feet) or weight on the wrong foot. Worked really hard on getting that down. Worked pretty good too.

Was ravenously hungry afterwards, but restrained myself from eating a roasted cow,or othersuch overly large lunch. Heh. Technique classes are intense, much more so than rehersals.

Dance class was more like workshop/dance class today. By request of a few students, we did a mini workshop on how to do tassels and tasselbelts. After that, we did some dancing, teaching them at least one new dance move, and making minor corrections on already known dance moves. Was asked last night if the old crew would be there tonight. My answer sums it up perfectly "Don't know, don't care."

Came home, made sure all is in readiness for tonight, tried to take a short nap (no joy), and printed out flyers for our upcoming student salon. Brewing a pot of coffee to sip on now, and got some honey/nuts/raisin bite sized snacks packed and ready to go. So much to do, and so little time to get it all done! :)

Still tire easily. Tonights' dance class was "Class Lite". Students were very understanding. Told them I would make it up at the next class. Worked on their salon dance set, and made arrangements to practice/rehearse for this Saturday.
Going to be an early night for me as we have a performance in Armadale tomorrow, and I need as much rest as I can possibly get. *yawwwwn*

Last nights class went wonderfully. Poor S, she won Trooper of the Night, as she was still under the influence of a virus, but stuck it out through the whole class. Worked on technique and the reasons why we were working on technique. They both did wonderfully. Had both of them doing some fairly intricate footwork, and they did it!

Came home and played around with the new mounted telescope. It is both easier to use, and complex at the same time. I ended up coming back in for two reasons: 1, it was friggin' cold out there last night (about 2c, just above freezing) and [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland popped open the door and light blinded me. *sigh* He meant well. (sends him zen hug)

[livejournal.com profile] _meegan_ are heading into our Pillage grounds today (that would be Fremantle) to drop off her sewing machine for a servicing. Mine needs to go too, but I will wait until hers comes back so we don't end up not having a working one. Also have to pick up a few things at the Fremantle Markets.

That is a pretty good word.

Yesterdays dance class was intense and instructive. Worked on technique. Irene  has a bit of a problem as she is bowlegged (as she said, from years of both ballet and horseback riding) so I have had to make adapatations for her, so the dance moves look the same, but are done differently than how the rest do them. And they work nicely.  Comes in handy having PT experience.

Both her and Ellen tend to make the moves too big on their left sides, but that stems from being righthanded and thinking the move isn't 'big enough' on the left so exaggerate it a bit. Small thing to work out. :)

Vivienne was the 'trooper of the day'. She was still feeling a bit ill, but said she had missed enough. We both told her to sit and rest if needed.  Rhad is improving in leaps and bounds.

They all said they would be at the rehersal/practice session next Friday.  :)

Started too early due to [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland's sore arm. (It's feeling better today, after being given a day of real rest.) Pillaged and plundered in Fremantle. Saw someone that it took a few seconds for my brain to twig as to who it was.  So corporate, so necktied and pressed shirt. *blinked a few times* Nope, it was! Wow, I am not going senile or brain dead. Said Hi, and how ya doing sort of thing, and zipped off on our merry way.

Brought the booty back home, unloaded the car.  Was kind of tired, but managed to stay awake. Got to dance class. I have to say this again: I would rather have a few enthusiastic students, than a room full of 'belly bunnies' who are there just to flounce around and giggle.  Sure, financially, having a bunch of BB's pays off, but not when I crack a molar gritting my teeth because of their antics.

So, the students we have there are either savants, or we are brilliant teachers, or a combo of both because they are zooming right along!  Class surpassed our expectations, so we raised the bar on them again. And they met the challenge.

Came home, and [livejournal.com profile] aikidomayland had prepared dindin for me, with my self imposed dietary restrictions in mind. He is just so sweet.  Methinks I will keep him.

Crawled into bed, and that was about all I remember until Keito, the PURRminator, decided he had to go out NOW. And then commences the Domestic Chore Blitz. :p yeahfun.

Got an email from A.O.E. and my motorised EQ5 mount is on the waaaay!  I told him not to worry about it not getting here THIS week, as rain is predicted until next week anyhow. I lucked out this week getting a decent group of AVIs. Still haven't processed em all, but I will. :)
